Do you love reading?

Enjoy working with children?

Have three hours a week to spare during term time?

Our reading partners come from a wide variety of backgrounds and all ages. No formal qualifications are required, but the following are necessary:

  • A passion for reading, and excellent literacy skills

  • An empathy with young people

  • Confidence and flexibility, in order to work independently

  • An ability to commit to three hours per week for at least one school year

What do we offer volunteers?

  • Comprehensive training

  • Ongoing support and advice from our staff

  • All resources are provided

  • Regular training updates, book exchanges, meetings and newsletters

  • An opportunity to engage in worthwhile and enormously rewarding voluntary work
